U.S. 250: THE GATEWAY TO ASHLAND COUNTY

Before the construction of Interstate 71, currently the main drag from Cleveland to Columbus,250 was the main road to travel on. As a result, there was a great amount of traffic coming through downtown Ashland. Now that the Interstate is here, downtown Ashland does not see as much life as it used too. Today, Ashland’s mayor, Glen Stewart, and Ashland’s Main Street Group have been working hard, attempting to build up the town to what it used to be. So take a walk downtown, you may be pleasantly surprised.
FROZEN FAD

The Frozen Fad is a piece exploring the rise of frozen yogurt. It is clear that Froyo is taking the market by storm as there are frozen yogurt shops popping up all across America. This is not the first time frozen yogurt has risen to popularity; it was widely popular in the 1980s as well.

EXPLORING ASHLAND SQUARE CINEMA

Ashland Square Cinema is a theater that was located on the Center Street in Ashland, Ohio. It was opened on December 27, 2010. Ashland Square Cinema is an important aspect of the Ashland community especially those who lived during its time. Although it is no longer open and is on sale, Ashland Square Cinema was an important source of social and entertainment contact for residents of Ashland.

CLOTHES MINDED BOUTIQUE

Most Ashland Students believe downtown to be reminiscent of a ghost town; however, Clothes Minded Boutique is one store that is revamping the once desolate town. Owner Ali Amato relocated to a plot next to Downtown Perk, another boutique/cafe that they often partner with.
